Galenicum analyses the challenges of the supply chain in the Forum ETSEIB 2015
March 23, 2015
Galenicum was one of the many companies participating in the 25th edition of the Forum ETSEIB, a benchmark event at a European level organized annually by the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona, belonging to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
The aim of this initiative is to engage students with the work market and vice versa, thus creating a link between the academic environment and the professional world. This initiative offers students the possibility of doing an internship or a Degree project, or even being hired by a company, at the same time as it allows companies to promote themselves among students.
The Forum ETSEIB also included conferences and workshops, coffee meetings and personal interviews, all focused on encouraging contact between the academic and professional world.
Thanks to the presence of Xabier Aztarain (Supply Chain Manager), Sílvia Carreño (Supply Chain Expert) and Natalia Elizondo (Human Resources Expert), Galenicum was given the opportunity to discuss aspects of the pharmaceutical industry with engineering students through a practical exercise on the supply chain, in which 15 candidates worked in teams to develop ideas for the same.
The academic level of the participants was very high and after the seminar two were hired as trainees at Galenicum. This will give them professional experience in the supply chain operations in the pharmaceutical industry and the numerous challenges arising in this sphere.
