Galenicum, awarded for entrepreneurial trajectory

On Thursday, July 14 in the Axa Auditorium in Barcelona, the XXI edition of the "Acció" Investment Forum took place. Acció is the main meeting point for entrepreneurs and investors in Catalonia.
Galenicum, the pharmaceutical company founded in 2003 in Barcelona by Joaquim Domingo, Erich J.W. Büchen and Alejandro Ollé, received the Entrepreneurial Trajectory Award.
During the gala, Catalans’ entrepreneurial spirit was emphasized and the ’s €800 million in venture capital the region garnered in 2015 was highlighted. Catalonia closed 2015 with 502 operations and €371 million, which accounts for 32.9% and 56.3% respectively for all of Spain.
When collecting the prize, Joaquim Domingo thanked the organizers for the recognition and reiterated that the company’s goal is to continue its growth trajectory based on a solid focus on R&D investment. This is evident in that Galenicum has in recent years been in the top ten Spanish companies with the most patents in the European Patent Office.
