Galenicum shows its commitment to training by participating in University Joins Industry
November 20, 2013
During the months of October and November 2013 Galenicum has implemented an initiative in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona. Forming part of the social commitment of the company and designed for training future professionals, the University Joins Industry workshops have provided participants with the opportunity to obtain a wider view of the pharmaceutical industry, its multiple facets, and the situation of a sector in constant transformation.
Aimed at any person interested in developing their professional career in the pharmaceutical industry, University Joins Industry had more than 90 participants, including Pharmacy students interested in recognition of their free elective credit who, on completion of the eight discussion and networking workshops, worked on the development of a Project Plan to put the knowledge acquired into practice. At the same time, they were able to gain firsthand knowledge of the opinions of renowned professionals in key areas of the industry, from Galenicum as well as other spear-head companies, who advised them on the development of their professional careers in different areas of activity. Among the speakers, Galenicum participated with the presence of Javier Torrejon (Intellectual Property), Mireia Pladevall (Project Management), Anna Martinez (Quality Assurance) and Olga Ribot (Regulatory Affairs & Pharmacovigilance).
The evaluation of the experience was very positive, both on behalf of the students as well as the teachers and professionals from the sector, who considered University Joins Industry as a training initiative of enormous value which, in turn, has enabled Galenicum to strengthen ties with the University. We hope to be able to continue developing these activities in the future as part of our commitment to training and talent as key elements for increased present and future competitiveness.
